This is, put simply, one of the best video games to have been released in recent years. It really was a monumental achievement by Infinity Award. Those who have played it will know what I mean but for those who haven't, I will say that it was a landmark in FPS games.

The biggest leap forward is in the multiplayer mode. Before, FPS games were all about killing the most people however CoD4 brought in a whole new dimension... the perks and weapons upgrade system. This allows you to customize your weapons and skills set. For example you can have skills like faster reloading or quieter movement and weapons upgrades such as scopes and attachments. This completely changes the whole multiplayer experience. Now the player is constantly striving towards the next unlock able upgrade which is fantastic fun. Maps are also good, a mix of large sniping maps and small CQB maps keeps things varied and you quickly develop favorite maps which you know inside out.

The single player mode is equally as good, my only criticism being that it is far too short. When I play a game I really like to get stuck into the story mode but with this, it can be completed in a matter of days. However I won't let this detract from what is a brilliantly written plot, very well executed.

To conclude this review, 10/10, 100%, top marks... doesn't matter how you look at it this game is epic.

If you could only have one game, this would be it.
