Advantages: Goes back to WWII weapons (like CoD 2)
Disadvantages: Poor sound quality and lacking playability
Introduction
I was really looking forward to the release of CoD 5 as i loved CoD 2 and wanted to go back to the WWII setting with similar weapons. I felt CoD 4 had taken a step back graphically and was hoping that CoD 5 would bring everything good about CoD together. Unfortunately i was disappointed.
Game Play
At first i was reasonably happy. The graphics were fantastic and the weapons all looked very familiar. However, using the weapons was hard work (took forever to make any impact with a bullet) and the sound quality was poor (not a problem i'd had with either CoD 2 or 4).
Online Play
When moving to online gameplay it became apparent that tanks and dogs were to play a huge part in how long you lived on the battlefield. Some maps had tanks which was a huge problem if you couldn't get in one! When a player also reached a certain number of kills without dying they could also then send in the dogs to get you - and nine times out of ten (no matter how hard you tried to kill them - they killed you!).
Value For Money
I don't believe that the price of £30 is fair for this PC game, especially as it seems to have taken a step backwards in terms of gaming quality and playability.
Conclusion
I personally have gone back to playing CoD 2 - and i would recommend CoD 2 over CoD 5 any day.
Summary: It has taken a step backwards from CoD 2 and 4 in my opinion

- 14/06/09 All my mates at college love the COD games, I myself get bored just listening about them, not really for me. Good review. Kirsty x |
