Advantages: Good graphics, good story line and great gameplay

Disadvantages: No British soldiers

I was sceptical about this game and have heard some really bad press about it. I've never been a fan of WW2 games but since playing Medal of Honour: Airborne I quite like them now. But I held off on the purchase because of the price and now I get to play it.

As games go the Call of Duty series is a great benchmark in the FPS genre, I played COD4 and was impressed but I didn't rush out to buy COD-WAW. At the time I wasn't sold in on the WW2 genre and didn't think I'd like it. Once I got into the genre I loved it and then a month of two down the line I buy this game. It's fair to say the graphics are amazing and as with COD4 are the best they can get at the current time. Environments look great and the maps are a decent size. The game seems to be bug free for the moment and I can't say a bad word about any of it at all. Weapons are accurate and my favourite has to be the M1 Garand.
I've never heard of Treyarch before and am quite impressed with what they've done with the game since Infinity Ward in COD4. They have come up trumps in terms of game play and graphics in this release and are certain that if they make a return to the series it will be just as good.

In terms of game play it is very entertaining and unlike COD4 it does incorporate more individual mission as opposed to you in a team with no specialty. There are some more realistic touches too like the burning house where you have to keep low and the flushing out of the Germans. What I thought was good was the two sides to war with the yanks in Japan and the Russians in Germany but it is a shame they didn't include the Brits on this somewhere but never mind. There are also three playable characters in the game and some great non-direct combat missions, one with a tank and the other in a flying boat taking out Japanese planes and boats.
They have stolen some mission ideas from COD4 including the taking down of Germans with their mounted machine gun as in 'The Bog' mission in COD4.

Overall I love this game and it has made me even more in love with the WW2 genre. The graphics are superb and the game play is even better.

Summary: A great follow-on from COD4
