Premium Review Call of Duty (PC): Call of Duty! (746 words)

Rating:

With the recent release of Call of Duty 4, I feel it encumbent to review the first entry into the series. ~~~ Game: Call of Duty Format: PC Developer: Infinity Ward Release Date: October 29th, 2003 Although Call of Duty was released 4 and a half years ago, it can be considered a palpable and valuable influence upon first-person shooters of the present day. For every stellar shooter at the time, such as Medal of Honour, Call of Duty seemed to provide a counter-balance and a comprimise to some of that game's more awkward game mechanics. Gameplay ======== The gameplay mechanics are very basic, and will be ...  Read the complete review

This is a review of a World War II game, that has been acclaimed the game of the year (2003) called Call Of Duty. Fight against Nazi forces through four campaigns where you will be able to experience the war yourself. Play through twenty-four epic single-player missions or if you think your ready fight online in an Axis versus Allies team-based multiplayer action. In this game you will never fight alone, you will take on the enemy German forces with a big force on your own, with their own names and ranking. You will end up going through basic training then ending up fighting tanks and taking out enemy strongholds with your squad and take advantage against the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Call of Duty (PC): A welcome change from the Medal of honor games (211 words)

Call of duty came as a refreshing game compared to the Medal of honor games, while in Medal of honor you usually fight alone or whit one or two allies in Call of duty the entire platoons backing you up makes you feel you're just a soldier, the game takes you trough famous battles and world war 2 scenes as seen in movies like its nothing, like in the Russian levels you start out like the landing scene from Enemy at the gates and a level or two later you're smack in the middle of defending "pavlov's house" The main armies you will be fighting whit will be America, England and Russia, once you get to the Russian campaign there will be some tank levels ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Call of duty (214 words)

There is no shortage of First person shooters in this wid world. The call of duty was one of the best of them. This game takes the players back to the age of World War II. Well the main aim of the game is to just "KILL THE FRIGGIN ENEMIES" that are running around. The game starts with different missions, each mission more insane and thrilling than what was before. The game play is very very exciting. There is a addional feature here of allied game play. The AI in the game is very smart. You are surrounded by your own fellowmen and as they die, more and more keep coming. Its like you are ad mists the whole war, which is fought by thousands of men at the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Call of Duty (PC): COD Is A Shooting Classic For WW2 Buffs. (294 words)
by - written on 26/04/08 (Somewhat useful, 29 readings)

The set singleplayer gameplay is great but you will mostly enjoy multiplayer gameplay online, battle againt the enemy with automatic, semi-automatic, rifle and handgun weapons as well as the melee option, grenades are useful online but it is hard to hit the target you desire, many online servers are rifle only and require expertise, some servers play modified weapons such as the Scoped KAR98K with grenades for bullets meaning less accuracy is required, unfortunately some servers are full of people using hacks and cheats, you will encounter this but eventually you will realise that is your being killed way to easily then cheats are being used and you will no longer play ...  Read the complete review
