Advantages: Blood, Gore, More Blood
Disadvantages: Not enough blood
This may be an old game, and many will think it must be out of date because it requires no 3D accelerator card, but Carmageddon still rules the universe when it comes to PC Driving Games. I've just finished a mammoth stint of fender-bending carnage and I loved every second. I've had this game for years and still don't get tired of driving round at high speeds smashing innocent bystanders into pulp! And who would? Carmageddon is a PC game that revolved around racing. This is no ordinary racing - the easiest way to win is to smash into your opponent's cars so much that they are wasted and can't continue. On your way round the various courses (if you choose to bother sticking to them), you will see hundreds and hundreds of Zombies (or people if you have the patch). Hit them. Go on, really fast. That's the idea - a driving game where the object is to hit people SO fast that you get splatter bonuses. If you are lucky and hit them with anything but the front of thr car, you will normally get a Bonus for Artistic Impression. Your score depends on the rivers of blood you leave in your wake. The messier, the better. And the music is by Fear Factory. I won't elaborate. If you know who they are you will understand what I'm talking about, and I can't describe their musci in words. If you like realistic driving games, and want something where you have to change gears, and the acceleration is based on real life cars, and there are rules, don't get this game. If you want to drive around really fast hitting walls, other cars and people (and cows) then this is the game for you. fast paced, full of action and blood and hideously entertaining!
