Advantages: Easy to download and therefore could fill a bored space easily, quite fun
Disadvantages: repetitive
I stumbled across the first one of these - "Carrie the Care Giver" - in a bored moment when I couldn't sleep on night. I showed it to my 9 year old niece and she loved it. It whiled away a bit of dead time quite nicely. It works like Flo's Diner Dash, or any one of a number of similar games which give you a series of tasks to do, which become increasingly complex as you go through the different levels. You get bonus points for completing a series of identical tasks, and you have a target number of points to achieve to get through a day and progress to the next one.
The first game involves changing babies nappies and giving them bottles, this second one involves looknig after toddlers - teaching them to draw and giving them drinks etc. It is a perfectly good way to click away a few hours, though if you wanted to give ti a go, I think I'd start with the first one - it makes logical sense. That's perhaps m just being a bit obsessive, after all it is only a game!
I think it is because I am a bit obsessive that I like these games occasionally - they give you the chance to compete everything and get it all tidy at the end of the day!
The graphics are hardly realistic - they are like a children's cartoon - there is certainly nothing here an older child like my niece wouldn't like, or that would be inappropriate.
You have the chance to change environments every now and again as you progress through the stages - Carrie opens bigger and better nurseries - but really this is quite a repetitive game. It just all gets faster and they add a few more details each level.
You can buy this by download from Yahoo Games, Microsoft Games, iwin, bfg (Big Fish Games) and a host of others. It costs £19.99, but I'd strongly suggest you try a one hour download before you buy. Big Fish Games have it as part of a package where if you buy several games form them each one costs a lot less than 19.99 - it varies according to the package but it could be a low as £7.49.
It's OK, but I wouldn't waste too much time on it if I were you, unless you have never played any of these type of games before, in which case this might have novelty value,o or you are either very short on things to do or quite obsessive!
Summary: Cute if you like this sort of thing
