Despite the fact that it is soon to be 5 years old, Championship Manager 96/97 is still, in my honest opinion, the very best manager sim out there. One of the reasons why it is better than all the later Championship Manager games is because it is far more simpler, with fewer pointless statistics. The sheer simpleness of it makes it the perfect game for people who feel that the matches are more important than stats in a manager game. In the newer Championship Managers there is so much data to sift through, that it takes sometimes up to 1 hour to move between matches.
