Advantages: New features, loads of players, you control the team/s, everything else!!

Disadvantages: Very similar to Championship Manager 99/00 but basically with updated players.

Championship Manager 00/01 is the latest CM (Championship Manager) game in it's series and it couldn't be better. This game has 26 concurrent leagues with thousands of players. You are the manager of the team of your choice, so long as they are not international. You can get the international manager job, for example, the England job, but first you must show your sheer talent and quality in managing.

TRANSFER SYSTEM
The transfer system is amazing in the CM series. It is just like real life-Managers want to negotiate transfer fees and sometimes the player cannot go abroad because he does not have the right passport etc. Sometimes the player will leave a club because he does not like playing conditions, or he wants to move to a bigger club. If you are not sure if you want to buy a player or not, you can send one of your scouts to watch him and your scout will report back to you with his opinion!

INJURIES/BANS
Players are injured and banned just like real life. When a player is sent off during a match, he can be banned from 1 match to months of matches. You can fine the player from 1 week's to 4 week's wages or simply give him an official warning for getting sent off or even if he played bad, but make sure you're not too harsh or the player will be unhappy at the club. :-(

LAYOUT
The layout of Championship Manager 00/01 is the same as Championship Manager 3-It is like a web page. There is a menu on the left side showing everything you need and every time you click something, the background picture changes. Sometimes, if it is there, there is a picture of the player or team you clicked on.

GAME MATCHES
You do not actually play during the game and you do not see players running around on the screen. Instead, you see written commentary, which you can set to different speeds: very slow, slow, medium, fast, very fast. Watching it on slow or very slow means the crowd in the background cheer in the same
way they would do if it happened in real life. For example, if someone did a bad foul, they would boo or if someone scored, they would cheer. You can see the current table during the match. This is the league table if the scores stay at current. You can also view other scores at the same time as yours. You can also see match statistics and player ratings.

TACTICS
During the match or before the match you can change your team tactics to whatever suits you best. You could change the formation of the team or concentrate on one individual player by changing what you want him to do. For example, you could make him make forward runs and make him take long shots. It's simply your decision.

MEDIA INVOLVEMENT
You can now deny, confirm or even make no comment on media reports. These include attacks on your player or them praising your players. Sometimes, the fans praise your decisions, praise you or even want you too retire and give the job to someone who can handle it better.

UPDATES
The new features in this game-the difference between this game and CM 99/00 is:
More leagues-26 leagues over the world.
Media Feedback-You confirm or deny media rumours from newspapers and even football web sites.
Random Players-You can play with a set of randomly generated player’s names.
Improved Training system-Attributes that are improving or decreasing are now highlighted.
FA requests-You can request match postponement of match fixtures and complain about the referee!
Data editor-You can change player statistics.
Additional player analysis-More statistics in players, including shots on target and passes completed.
DVD style box-The game comes in a DVD style box so it won't break easily, is more compact and is neater!

Overall, Championship Manager season 00/01 is every football fan's dream. You choose a team. You be the manager. You take them to the top. You try your best not to get sacked.
