Top notch game (Championship Manager 00/01 (PC))

As all my mates know, I've been addicted to every single championship manager game since the very first one. I also know how easy it is to drone on in every opinion about how wonderful your subject is. This, is no exception. The recently added extras to this new version just adds to the addiction value.

#1:- Players stats

As far as the players stats screen is concerned, it hasn't really changed that much. The idea of shot acuraccy percentage and number of tackles/dribbles per game has gone down exceptionally well in the eye of the obsessed Championship manager fan.

#2:- Media reports

This is something new in this years version and I felt that it could have been added to a lot. It's potentially a very good idea, but the idea of just having three options to respond to the reports is not. I've felt in the past that eidos have been very generous in the choice of options department, like when you want to set the players squad status, but they have broken this reputation in this newer verrsion. For example, if there is a report from the observer about Martin Palermo's recent performances, the only options you are given is:- Agree with article, disagree with article or no comment. Maybe if there are more options like "yes, but I'm not going to kiss the bank manager just yet due to his brief spell so far at the club" etc.

#3:- Pricing structure

This is another good point about this years version, the pricing is a lot more realistic. For example, Zinedine Zidane is worth 25 million in the new game whereas he's worth a meesley 8 million in the old one. The pricing structure for players in the lower leagues are also a lot more realistic. I am also pleased to see that clubs in division three and in the conference have more money than in Cm99/00.

#4:- Other features

Other good features include better player/manager and player interaction control.
However, I feel as if more can be done to interact with the players individually. For example, if Edgar Davids has an unfortunate handbag incedent with Frank De Boer then I think you should be able to talk toeach player individually before fining either of them. I also like the new idea that you can make requests to the FA as well as your money-grabbing chairman, like when you want to politely ask if they can postpone a match or your weekly complaint about a referee.

All in all, if haven't got this game and want to drive the missus wild then this is the game for you.
