A quick glance at most of the opinions for cm 00/01 all go to show that it is without doubt the best manager simulation game on the market and probably one of the most detailed pc games ever.

I would like to take this opportunity to provide an opinion on ideas some managers may have to improve their team, although most of my tips are more likely to benefit you if you are in charge of a premiership team and not a lower divisional team.

The first advice i can offer you is to use the option of asking your coaching staff for opinions on the squad you have just inherited-especially those in the reserve team. This usually results in many players being shown not to be good enough to remain at the team and putting them up for sale reduces the wage bill and also allows you to gain some additional finance to buy players of our own. Do not be afraid to take less than the value suggested by the game as many of these reserve team players are unlikely to be sold at these prices and remain on your wage bill without any chance of a first team appearance.

Second piece of advice is to take advantage of the bosman ruling and to try and obtain as many players as you can of a quality good enough to compete at your club. This may mean you having to offer players a high wage rate in an attempt to persuade them to join you in prefernce to other teams but do so. This means you have saved massively on transfer fees and also you can hen make profits on those players you feel are not part of your first team plans. This in effect allows you to build transfer funds again. I usually find after the first season i can go out and buy at least 2 very good players from the sales of bosman ruling players.

The third piece of advice is to sign players such as Richard knopper, Simon Colisomo, Alpay, Martin Palmero, Martin Posse and Andey Stolcers to name but a few. Some of these players may be out of your range but others such as Simon Colismo and Alpay can be br
ought cheaply whilst Knopper is a free agent after the first season. Colisomo may not make the brightest of starts and the coaches may not rate him that highly also but he will turn out to be a real bargain at less than a million.

The final piece of advice is always try and change your tactics every season as you usually become predictable and other teams start to combat your tactics, of course thta is unless you have assmebled a near dream team!
