I'm not sure how this opinion's going to go. This is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, my favourite computer game of all time. It is ridiculously addictive, and I can and do spend days on end sat in front of it (no bad thing, in spite of what you might think). However, I'm really not sure that I'll be able to do it justice at all, as it doesn't sound particularly interesting on the face of it. You have to play it, really. It's a football management game. I really don't care much for football, finding it difficult to summon up enough enthusiasm for any one team to actually care who wins or loses a specific match. But I've always loved ... Let's face it, the popularity of championship manager has become that huge that there are very few people who have never played it, and there are very few football management fans that have actually not became addicted! The game itself does state that it is the most important game of your life, and like it's predecessors, the game justifies it's own title. The set-up of the game is amazingly easy, a click here, and few letters of a footballers name there (eg Edgar Davids, CLASS), and you are away. ************** *Installation* ************** Installation is easy, and there are no surprises with it, so you won't ... If this game were real I'd be the greatest manager in the history of football. If this game were real I wouldn't be here writing this review. Alas, it isn't real but I can still dream. Championship Manager 01/02 is addictive, engrossing and probably the best fantasy football game ever. Well that's my opinion anyway but it is one of those games that you'll either love or hate. Since it's inception I have followed the Championship Manager series and have seen it grow and develop into what it is today. I haven't bought or played Championship Manager 4 yet so I can't make any comparisons with that game. ... Read the complete review

This is the game which probably single handily made me get much lower grades in my GCSE's than anything else. The thoughts in my head during the spell of my life went something like this. Shall I revise maths? Well I can do that on Championship Manager. If I have £20m in the transfer kitty and I want to buy a player for £24m how much more do it need to raise? Anyway as I'm sure you can guess I am a great fan of the Champ Manager series and the 01/02 version in my opinion was the mos superior. Compared to its predecessors the database was so much larger giving access to hundreds more players and leagues to plunder for the next star of my award winning ... Read the complete review

If I could add up all the hours I've spent on this game and deduct from the age I am now, I'd probably be 16 years old, yes that's right! (and I'm 25!) This game is ridiculously addictive and far superior to its predecessors and successors. Before this game there was CM2/3 and 00/01, despite good also, they do not compare to this game. Just the right balance of features, from training to shortlisting to tactics so that it gives you a good sense of control over your team, allowing you to personally feel satisfied when you do eventually manage to win something. There are also great online forums for tips and tricks and cheats if you're feeling naughty. Best ... Read the complete review
