Championship Manager 08 is the most recent version of the hugesly successful Championship Manager franchise and like its predecessors it brings a large amount of improvements from the versions of the past.
The first thing that you find once you have installed this game is how much work has been done to make this have a user friendly feel and just how much that work has paid off as the game now feels more simple and intuitive then it has in some of the more recent versions. Once I clicked to begin a new game I was impressed to find the game has once again improved on the amount of leagues from previous versions with this one now offering 27 playable nations. Having setup your game and choosing your team you are able to begin your management career and in this game you are offered a large amount of input into this with the most important things still being covered in a thorough yet simple way to make this suitable for users of a younger age too. The areas that most players will find themselves concetrating on are choosing your tactics and then delving into the transfer market to pick up the best players to fit your approach to the game...when dealing in the transfer market there are huge amounts of players from which to choose thanks to an increase of more than 25% of people within the games database. In the matchday you are able to watch in a variety of ways including the ability to watch the match with an angled camera showing a good amount of the pitch at all times thus allowing you to see where your team is going right and also where you can improve. The game also included ProZone analyst feedback which is a feature I personally don't use but I do think is a great idea as this gives a greater game depth to those who are looking for it but is not a necessary part for those who are not interested in using it.
If you are looking for a football management game in which you have plenty of control whilst still keeping the fun factor (I find this game easier than Football Manager 2008 which may make it appeal to many gamers).

Summary: Championship Manager 08 brings some of the fun factor back to the series and I love it
