Advantages: Comprehensive
Disadvantages: Too comprehensive
I loved playing this game. I say loved, because I could only play a few seasons before the software gave up on me. It's probably just a conflict between my hardware, which is getting on a bit, and the game which is at it's minimum requirements. So I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. But time after time it would hang and I uninstalled and reinstalled the bloody thing but it always went west just before something interesting was about to happen, you know, a) the next game was to clinch promotion, or b)I was about to bag David Beckham for Hartlepool, or sack Sir Bleedin' Alex Ferguson....again. Presuming it does work ok for every body else then it's a great management game, if that's your bag. No action to speak of, no moving parts at all in fact, if you discount the option of flashing text. Statto will love it. It's all facts and figures and if you install the whole game, which takes up acres of hard drive space by the way, it is very comprehensive, right down to the non league clubs. Some pictures, and a few ooohs and arrrrs from Villa fans helped the game along, but held up the game a bit. You can choose any club to start, from Man.U in the Premier League as it was called then (where is the challenge in that?), right down to Hayes in the Conference. Or choose a foreign league as I believe they play the beautiful game in other countries, oh yes. You have endless options as a manager, most of which I ignored as fortunately I do have a life. I found them unnecessary as it was all to easy to submit to the temptation to cheat as I took Hayes to FA Cup glory. I would have won the Premier League as well but for the software hanging. Basically you create another player, manage ManU and he buys all your bad players for a fortune, and Bob's you father's brother, to coin a phrase. And ManU get relegated and become bankrupt. Great! So now I hate it and it's back on the shelf w
here it will remain. Until the next time I'm bored probably. I can't wait to fire Ferguson again. Now where did I put it.......?
