On first release this game was met with some ambivalence. Most reviewers found the graphics stunning (they are), the sound excellent (it is) but the gameplay a bit repetitive. To be fair it is but this isn't Deus Ex. It is about dealing 7 kinds of pain on all NPCs and as such it works really well. It fits in the category of First Person Shooter as if by checklist, sniper rifle: check!, ventilation shafts: check! but it actually does it with a lot of style. In fact some of the set pieces with crossfire and traps reminds me of Call Of Duty. Quite a long game with 40 levels. The map design is excellent with some brilliant glass breaking thrown in. ...
