... Shooter as if by checklist, sniper rifle: check!, ventilation shafts: check! but it actually does it with a lot of style. In fact some of the set pieces with crossfire and traps reminds me of Call Of Duty. Quite a long game with 40 levels. The map design is excellent with some brilliant glass breaking thrown in. Multiplayer is standard fair, some servers can be a bit sparse but the single player is worth the admission. On first release this game was met with some ambivalence. Most reviewers found the graphics stunning (they are), the sound excellent (it is) but the gameplay a bit repetitive. To be fair it is but this isn't Deus Ex. It is about dealing 7 kinds of pain on all NPCs and as such it works really well. It fits in the category of First Person Shooter as if by checklist, sniper rifle: check!, ventilation shafts: check! but it actually does it with a lot of style.
