This is a most excellent strategy game where you can choose to be either the Germans or the Russians and you have to take part in WWII fighting against each other.

This game you can choose to do separate missions or you can do the grand campaign, the missions are battles that took place during the war.

The campaign is the whole of the storm across Russia taking each mission one after another, each mission is historically correct along with the weapons that are present at the time, so at the start of the war the Russians have a big advantage because the German tanks are not up to it, but there 88mm gun is.

This game requires a lot of skill as you can’t just send infantry on their own because they will get cut to pieces by any tanks or machinegun infantry. Also tanks on their own cant see as far as infantry so anti tank guns will rip them apart, this causes you to send both and also don’t over look the tactic of suppression fire, this is where you get some soldiers to let rip on the enemy which will cause the enemy soldiers to get down, this will let you move some other units closer to rip them to pieces completely.

Before each battle you have to choose the units you are going to take into battle, to choose these you have requisition points that are different each mission depending on the time of the war and if you had any left over from the last mission. The more experienced units that you can request cost more points to begin with but are better.

The skill of your soldiers is important so it is best to look after them because the better the skill the better shots and the less easy that it is for them to become routed, at the start of the German campaign I requested a rocket halftrack, this unit couldn't hit a thing but later on after firing a few rockets and surviving they never miss this makes it the best thing that I have as my mark 3 tanks cannot get through the armour of the KV1’s and 2’

Once one mission has been completed even if you loose you move on to the next one so you cannot change the course of the war it just gives you an overall score at the end of the campaign, I find this a bit of a bummer as I managed to stop the Russians at Berlin but as it happened in WWII I still lost the war.

The graphics and sounds of this game are quite good but with the explosions having a nice touch and the blood curdling scream of the enemy as your machine gunners chop him to pieces.

There is also a mission editor that comes with the game, this allows you to make battles based on what if, what if the Germans did this or that, I made one that the Germans had a nice amount of weapons when the Russians were attacking Berlin, so the Russians had a nice kicking.

This game is a nice war game that looks and plays well and also contains historical accuracies.
