Close Combat was one of the first War Strategies i played but i never got hold of a copy.When Close Combat II:A Bridge Too Far showed up i rushed to the stores to retrieve a copy.Finally got home and started to play the game and was pleasantly suprised at the enhanced graphics and A.I. capabilatie (Compared to the first that is). A Bridge Too Far is based on operation market garden which took place during WW2.For those of you who arnet historians this is where the allies did a stupid move and lost a lot of troops over it!But...foolishness aside the game can be played as either the Allies (The ones getting leathered) or the Axis forces (the ones who get to sit ... Having bought this well over two years ago, I can still honestly say that it is the best game in my possession. I know there have been the two sequels in this series, but both of them deviated somewhat from CC2's game engine. CC3, for instance, is far more linear, going off in the direction of Command and Conquer style strategy, where one must pass a particular map to progress. If CC2 or CC3 had stuck to the same game engine, but improved e.g. the graphics (already quite good in CC2), playability, and campaign depth, CC2 would clearly have been superseded.
