Advantages: Easy to learn, hard to master

Disadvantages: Old game now, might not be up to scratch graphicaly with newer games

Command and conquer generals is a real time strategy game set in the present. The 3 teams are China (focused around numbers and vehicles), America (focused on high tech and aircraft) and the global liberation army, or GLA (focused on stealth and sabotage and poisons).

The 3 teams are fairly well balanced, and each has its own roles to play. The campaigns are generally good, and can be extremely difficult against the AI on harder settings, while easy settings are no real challenge and are good for learning.

The game does have a map maker, and this is widely used in on line games, and there is a skirmish mode available.

The game is graphically pleasing, and is not very demanding for hardware, so will run on quite old machines. I would recommend this game and its expansion pack "command and conquer generals zero hour". This adds new campaign missions and units to each side.
