Advantages: Great to play single player and even more fun vs, crazy units!!!

Disadvantages: Graphically isn't that impressive

I think that I must say this is my all time favourite PC game, PERIOD!

==== Background info ====

Red Alert 2 is set in the late 1970's and is the sequel Red Alert 1 ( the brief outline of that is that Albert Einstein went back in time and assassinated Hitler to prevent WWII and you then deal with the fallout).

In Red Alert 2 the U.S is shockingly surprise attacked by the Soviet Union, with it's leader being controlled by the evil Yuri and his mind control. The campaign sees you being placed as the commander of the Allies ( The U.S.A, and most of Western Europe ) in their attempt to defend their freedom and stop the ruthless Yuri and his psychic corp from acheiving their aims of global domination.

==== Main Campaign ====

Overall I found the main campaign a very enjoyable playing experience, it is not always just a simple case of build your base and destroy the oppositions, you have specific missions involving Special Agent Tanya where you must guide her to achieve certain objectives, sometimes under a time limit. The units available to you, the commander changes the further into the game you progress, as you acquire new technologies such as the prism tanks (tanks which shoot a concentrated beam of sunlight whose damage increases when more prism tanks are present in the area), a mirage tank which will turn into a tree when it is stationary and other completely rediculous concepts such as time travelling soldiers that can teleport and a weather controlling machine! It is also possible to play a Soviet campaign and attempt to complete Yuri's vision of a psychic world! I didn't really find that particularly enjoyable and as such it won't feature much in this review.

Depending on the difficulty you start the campaign it can be relatively easy or extremely difficult!

==== Other Features ====
Red Alert 2 allows you to play single player skirmish modes when you don't feel like playing the campaign, each nation has its own special units which you must use to defeat your enemy. Red Alert 2 also still has a fairly active online community where players can play against others from all over the globe to prove they are the ultimate commander.

==== Price ====
This game is available for the measly sum of £5 which I consider absolutely fantastic value considering the amount of time you spend playing it. It is available from all good retailers of games and media ( Such as Amazon and Play.com)

Summary: An excellent RTS game and one every person should have in their collection.
