Advantages: Sub-Fractions, better campaign, more variety

Disadvantages: Rushing multiplayer opponents

To begin with Kanes Wrath is a noteworthy expansion pack to the game Tiberium Wars, and comes to the table with worthwhile features.

After finishing Tiberium Wars (the original) I was quite disappointed with the way it turned out and vowed not to buy the expansion, but after seeing the new features I took the plunge and was impressed.

The game comes with a whole new campaign and real life videos, which gave us more insight into the Tiberium War saga and introduced the new sub-fractions quite nicely. Although you can only play as nod during the campaign, it proved to be a better campaign than those found in the original game.

The main part of this expansion is the addition of the new sub fractions (2 each for each fraction) and various units. Each has it's own strengths and weaknesses and so choosing one over the other can determine who wins. Take for example the steel talons have increased firepower and mech units but can be easily countered with soldiers or air units.

The expansion also adds a new super unit to each of the fractions, notably NOD get a massive Avatar walker, known as the Redeemer, GDI a massive MARV tank and SCRIN a super insect like Eradicator Hexapod. All these have amazing feats and prove devastating to your enemies, such that MARV can double as a resource miner and the Redeemer can use a mind control device to make your enemies fight each other.

These sub fractions actually made me start enjoying the game alot more as the variety increased and tactics made a much bigger impact during gameplay. Also a nice addition to the game was the global conquest mode, but after a few attempts I got quite bored of it. As it just uses a feature similar to that of Rise of nations 'Conquer the world' mode. Unless you enjoy seeing yourself control the world it gets pretty boring.

The online part of the game is more or less the same as the original, but adds the new sub fractions and units to the fray. The multiplayer part of the game creates interesting game variants but you will more than likely get smothered in this first few minutes before you even clicked on a tank. Just like that of the original, but if you are a fighter and want to be the top, this game is for you.

Overall, the graphics has not changed, nor the sound and it is just a content pack. Yet the new content is great and you can expect a few weeks of gameplay with this expansion.

Summary: Sub-fractions made the game interesting
