Disadvantages: Counter-Strike Source is latest - you may want to get latest version instead
Played Counter-Strike Condition Zero recently since a long break from it and I just love the new single player offline modes. You get the same gameplay as you experience on online mode with the wrold but with bots helping you out with missions.
Counter-Strike: Condition Zero is created from the award winning Half-Life engine. Single player will put you as a squad leader in an elite counter-terrorist operative. You can use specialised manoeuvres and use weapon skills to complete over 20 brand new missions all over the world.
Your work will take you across the globe and behind scenes of everyday life. All missions are top secret and the risks involved are as real as the counter-terrorist operations most of the public knows nothing about.
Each scenario in the game features completely different stories, which have no interconnections. When a mission is completed, you will get extracted and inserted to a new scenario at a different time and place and also as a different specialist. Each scenario has unique mission objectives to complete, local languages and of course, atmosphere.
There are two modes to play on: Condition Zero Deleted Scenes and the Condition Zero mode.
The online mode is as good as the online mode in the first Counter-Strike game. There are now modified maps of the previous favourites such as de_dust and de_assault and many more. Some maps are new to the Counter-Strike series too, but you have to find out which ones.
Online mode is available to play via Steam which is the best online gaming provider I have known.
The game is absolutely superb but with Counter-Strike Source released with Half-Life 2, then you may not decide to get this. Get the new version for up to date fun!

- 23/06/05 I found this review a little difficult to follow - I get that it is good and it has an online option, but I think to fully appreciate what else you say you have to already be familiar with the game...in which case you don't really need the review! Is this a first-person shooter? A third person stealth game like "Splinter Cell"? A little of this sort of basic introduction would be helpful!
