Counter Strike Source is a first person shooter produced by Valve. It has become a very popular and competitive online game for the PC. Playing it now, it's very difficult and not a pick up and play kind of game like the Call of Duty series. It's very team based and most of what makes a good player is quick reactions, smart plays and precision aim.

There are a team of terrorists and counter-terrorists in each game and each round has a specific goal, such as defusing a bomb, taking out the other team or rescuing hostages. As you can guess, it requires good teamwork and communication and most people who play have a mic.

Most people regard CSS as a hardcore and realistic game. Accuracy decreases if you shoot while moving, holding down fire on automatic weapons continuously causes uncontrollable recoil, headshots are more or less an instant kill and it is heavily tactical.

A great thing about CSS is that the requirements for running it are very low (1.2 GHz processor, 256 MB RAM, entry level graphics card). As well as this, it's a very cheap game to pick up due to being so old and more than worth the money.

It's a pretty intense and very competitive game and if you're new to the game, expect some insults! It's played at a professional level...but getting better is all part of the experience and I highly recommend you try it out.
