Best multi-player FPS ever. (Counter-Strike: Source (PC))

Advantages: Brilliant game play

As a very big Counter-Strike Source (CSS) fan I have to review this game for you. CSS is a rather simple and straightforward affair, a team of Terrorist attempt to blow up a target and an opposing team of counter-terrorists try to thwart the baddies! Alternative games involve counter-terrorists trying to set free hostages being held by the terrorists!

Now that all seems rather trite given the present climate. However, what the game lacks by way of narrative it makes up for in abundance with excellent, fantastic, wonderful game play. The format is simple and unambiguous the controls simple, the weaponry and strategy is simple. The actual game play and feel of the game is simply great.

Tactics vary with the weaponry! Sit back with a sniper rifle or rush and spray with the P90! What ever your mood, this game has the tactics available to suit. One of the other thrills is the chance of getting up close and personal and dispatching your next victim with your knife. Great fun!

The graphics are simple, if a little dated now but with the fast pace of the game you do not really notice. Now, there are some seriously talented CSS players out there, so if you end up on a server and keep getting killed don't get down hearted. Keep at it!

In my opinion this ranks as one of the best multi-player FPS's of all time. However, the experience could be disappointing if you do not find the right servers to play on. Because this game is popular it can also attract plenty of morons, shouting and swearing on the microphones. Find a well run server with good admins who keep the idiots in check. You will then be having loads of fun in no time.

This game is not very intensive on the graphics so an average PC will run this game at reasonable 'eye candy' settings.

The key to this games success is GAME PLAY, GAME PLAY, GAME PLAY. Sadly lacking on a lot of newer titles. This game has stood the test of time
