CSI Dark Motives for DS - not bad at all (CSI: Dark Motives (PC))

Advantages: Great graphics and gameplay, quite challenging in places.

Disadvantages: Not as 'dark' as it could be and small graphics make it hard to spot some clues.

I love the CSI PC games, so when Dark Motives came out on DS I had to get it! I was slightly worried that the graphics and layout of the game would be compromised due to the smaller format of the DS yet I couldn't have been more wrong - the game play is almost identical and the graphics are among some of the best I've seen for a DS game.

As with all the CSI games, gameplay can be a little fiddly and certain clues may be difficult to find being on a smaller screen but if you're a fan of the original games then this shouldn't bother you too much.

The story lines, unfortunately, seem a little bland though - I think they've tried to cater for a younger demographic and therefore the stories aren't as adult and don't contain as many mature themes as the PC game perhaps would...I don't know, that may just be me as I'm a horror, blood and gore enthusiast...

All the same, this is a really good game adapted well to the DS format - just make sure you get your magnifying glass out!

Summary: Great game but possibly only for fans of the the original PC version
