Advantages: Great pvp, siege battles, easy lvling

Disadvantages: dated graphics, dwindling population

Nowadays people will recognise DAoC more if I say its the pre-quel to Warhammer Online. This is a very Player Versus Player (PvP) focused game and over time the xp required to level up has been reduced drastically to encourage people to get to the end of the game and PvP together. There is still a healthy population of people in the game and from my experience they were more than happy to help a new player get started. The game makes it very easy for you to lvl up and gives you one free lvl every couple of days just incase you didnt have much time to play recently. The game is fantasy based and features the array of classes that people are use to from the success of warcraft.

The main selling point for the people playing the game is the epic PvP battles with sieges where one team attacks a base whilst another defends. Catapults can be used to attack the base and typical battles involve 50 people per side.

If you're after something fresh that isn't too much of a grind then I would keep this game in mind.

Summary: The first true pvp game.
