After a couple of plays it certainly is involving. I felt that the end to both my terms (assassination by religious fundamentalists and a capitalist coup) felt a bit surreal in the uk as i had managed a high tech boom, full employment , rising GDP, and also had a well funded intelligence service. I guess these events make it more of a game and less of a simulation - the manual does say watch out for capitalists/religious and socialist distress as that can have major consequences.
Slightly disappointed at the number of spelling mistakes 'satelite' ' 'emmissions' .
I think i prefer tropico in the same vein, but still excellent fun and good value.

If you are looking for a game to kill a few mindless hours in an afternoon, Democracy is not the game for you. It requires a lot of thought and is not the sort of game you can muddle through and still win.
