Advantages: Good gameplay, decent AI, detailed levels
Disadvantages: Not enough character detail, storyline not well developed
It's 2075, the Earth has imploded and those in control are evil multinational corporations. You are fighting for peace as a resistance fighter and there are others like you on Earth.
Your team is made up of yourself and a few companions who you can order to follow you, stay and defend etc. The terrain and layout is well developed and the AI is pretty good. You won't find your companions getting stuck trying to climb ladders, walking into walls, getting stuck at doors etc.
The environments are very detailed. You'll find litter, boxes etc. strewn around which you can shoot and the items will actually move. Unfortunately far more time has been spent on the environment than your characters who are pretty unrealistic to look at. The developers also left out the storyline. Well, that's not actually true, there is a storyline there but it's not explained particularly well at all, in fact even now I couldn't give you a full explanation. Your character wants to expose the evil corporations and he needs a cloning machine, I have no idea why he needs the machine or who he is going to expose the corporations to as you don't see civilians wandering around so who else is there?
Thats not to say it's a bad game. Despite the fact that storyline often matters to me I really didn't care about it at all in this game, I was far too caught up in...well...gaming. It's not too easy so you'll get a good few hours out of it and it's not so hard you'll be playing it for a few weeks. It's certainly worth a try and you should be able to get it pretty cheap.
Summary: At its current price it's a must buy
