Having been a fanatical strategy fan (with Blizzards Warcraft and Starcraft games) for some years now, I thought I would throw caution to the wind and find out what this Diablo palava was all about. This being my first RPG purchase, I can't really comment as to how it compares to the other out there (Baldurs Gate, etc) but I can definitely say that it ranks right up there with Starcraft for addictiveness!
Graphics are sumptious with practically all Graphics cards catered for - the installation even runs a test to find out which graphics display would be best for you.
Sound is fine as well, even having nice little ploinking noises when you move around gems in your backpack!
Being the lazy type, I went for one of the spell type chaps, and visually, the effects are very impressive.
A full install however, takes up 1.5GB including cinematics, so you better have a cavernous hard drive if you want the full Diablo effect!
One niggly thing though, would be the lack of IPX/SPX network support. You can only play multiplayer on Battlenet or with a TCP/IP network!?!
I've also found out that there is already a v1.01 patch for Diablo, so be prepared for a few more of them coming out to fix up those little bugs...
