Doggie Dash is a game I got from Big Fish Games, (www.bigfishgames.com), and costs from $6.99. Big Fish Games offer a wide selection of very simple games that are normally great fun.
Doggie Dash centres on a kind of "Pet Salon" where you have to pamper pooches and preen kitties before they get impatient and leave. The quicker you get them through the bathing, fur trimming, ribbon adding, exercise regimes the happier they are and the more money their doting owners tip you.
To be honest I don't particularly like Doggie Dash. I suppose if I were an eight year girlie girl who "loves animals" I might be able to stomach it a bit more. I don't get people who take their pets to the salon anyway so the subject matter certainly isn't my cup of tea but I guess some people really like this sort of thing and they might enjoy the game more.
The graphics are REALLY basic and oh-so 2D that the game just looks weird and very cheap. The sound effects are truly naff and the music makes me want to hurt people! To be fair, you can turn the music off in the game options and if you really want to you can turn the sound effects off/down.
The game-play is fairly simple being more or less point and click but I find it really hard in later levels and I actually cannot complete the game which gets on my nerves too. The pets just seem to get really angry faster than I can move so I really think that it is a little too hard. No doubt most small children could master it with ease though, lol! At the end of every day you get to spend the money you earned upgrading your shop which does make it easier to keep the whiney pets happy.
As you can probably tell I don't like this game and I would only recommend it to people who really like animals, have infinite patience and super-human speed!
