Doom is the original masterpiece of the FPS genre, and its sequel, imaginatively titled Doom 2, is every bit the game the original was, even if it's not quite as revolutionary. For its time, the game may not be a masterpiece of graphics (and certainly looks dated now!), but it was certainly adequate, and its retro design is something of an iconic identifying signature nowadays. It is a game that will live on forever in the annals of video game history as one of the best sequels ever. It is a very atmospheric game despite its so-so visuals; the soundtrack is extremely good, with tense beats, and some excellent sound effects, such as when you rattle off the ... Ah, Doom 2, where to begin? The release of the original Doom game back in 1993 left its fans begging for more.... more levels, more enemies....more weapons....MORE!.... and this is precisely what Doom 2 delivers. Subtitled "Hell On Earth" the plot to Doom 2 is that whilst you the player were fighting your way through Jupiter's moon colonies and on into Hades itself during the first instalment, the residents of Hell have meanwhile been wreaking havoc back on Earth, meaning that it is now up to you to push them back, city by city, suburb by suburb. I use the word 'plot; lightly though, because the 'Earth' theme is only really played lip ... Read the complete review

Well what can i say about Doom 2, surely if you own a PC or you love video games you surely must have played one of the doom games. They are all practically the same yet so different. Okay so they aren't hugely different, most of the time its just slightly better graphics, maybe a new enemy or weapon and more levels. But the whole DOOM experience makes each game seem so brand new and great. This game (well DOOM) was about the second ever FPS (first person shooter) to be made, the first being Wolfenstein 3D which was made by the people who you guessed it made DOOM. It was highly basic and you ran around a huge castle infested with Nazi's, it was a ... Read the complete review

Doom is widely heralded as one of the best games ever to grace our screens. So obviously I'm going to sit here and tell you how much of a great game it is, and how you should all play it just to have experienced one of the most influential games in the history of gaming. And yes I am going to do that, but I may also drop in a few negative points because I don't think Doom was the great innovator that everyone thinks it was. I've said in a few ops before that if you don't know what the subject is about then you must have had your head stuck in the sand for a few years - but this time I really mean it. I don't expect a 40-something year old to ... Read the complete review

This game is basically, walk around blasting the hell out of everybody with a seriously large gun with lots of ammo. You fight monsters, each one having a different super power to try and stop you. You are a little man in what looks like a space suit. This game can be played for hours on end and is excellent in the Office for after hours. What are you waiting for go buy it!! Yeah I've heard it all before this game is old but its one of the original 'shoot em ups'. The graphics are oldish but that doesnt stop millions of fans playing it. There are two versions of this game, meaning you can buy it for DOS or Windows95. With the windows version ... Read the complete review
