A classic (Doom (PC))
Member Name: Crushy
Advantages: Retro, gory and exciting Disadvantages: old, but don't let that phase you
A classic. If you haven't played this game then you are a disgrace to First Person Shooters. Doom is seen by some as the first of its type, at the time of release, gamers were eager to get their hands on this game they had heard so much about, the game that was actually '3d'. Over a decade and a half on, many still get the same immense feeling of satisfaction when they blast the guts off a vicious zombie or fireball throwing imp. The makers, id, of the Doom series worked long and hard on the game and thought completely of the player when making decisions, whether they're about aesthetics, controls or just the sheer amount gore. The game has a huge 5 different difficulties which range from the 'easy' I'm too young to die, to the notoriously impossible Nightmare! setting. Most steer clear of the last difficulty altogether as it is incredibly hard to complete even simple levels on it. After selecting a difficulty, you must fight through 3 stages or the storyline each consisting of 8 - 9 levels and an exciting boss fight to finish. Summary: Certainly worth buying |
