It is 20 years since Dragon's Lair arrived on the scene as the world's first full-animation video game. It has been ported to almost every home computer and console, and is one of only three games on permanent display at the Smithsonian Institution (the others are Pac-Man and Pong). The original game is much in evidence in Dragon's Lair 3D. Dirk the Daring, the beautiful princess Daphne and the fire-breathing dragon Singe all make an appearance. The addition of real-time, 3D modelled environments allows a certain amount of freedom to run, jump and fight.
