This is where it all started. Though technically not the first real-time strategy game ever made, Dune 2 provided the template for the Warcraft and Command and Conquer games, and is largely responsible for shaping the genre as we know it today. Based very loosely around Frank Herbert's novel of the same name, the game allows you to play as one of three Intergalactic Houses- the Atreides, Harkonnen or Ordos, as they battle it out on the desert world of Arrakis in an attempt to control the planet's supply of Spice, a rare and valuable resource used as spacecraft fuel.
