Oh dear the new game from SSI (Earth 2150) has put Westwood Studio's back in its place (Earth 2150 (PC))

Advantages: Brilliant graphics and very addictive to play

Disadvantages: View modes hard to master

Earth 2150 is the first real-time stratergy game with total 3D warfare, this gives the game a whole new perspective and is really fun to play. This game came out soon after C&C Tiberian Sun came out and complete wiped the floor with it. As you know many of the original stratergy games mainly by Westwood have not really been significantly advanced, you still get the boring old view which in some ways can be really boring and crap to play with.

The basic history of the game is in 2150, their will be a nuclear holocaust and earth will be uninhabited. However there are three surviving factions the Lunar Corporation, the Eurasian Dynasty and the United Civilised States. Each of these has their own unique weaponry and arsenal and uses different methods to kill their opponents. However the problem is the three different factions have to fight each other in order to resettle on Mars as only a limited ammount of people can settle there.

Also with this game you get given the oppertunity to build your own tanks/walkers/or flying ships. This enables you to customermise your army with the best weapons possible. My particular favourite is the tank which can fire two nuclear missiles from great distance.

As I have said each team has its own buildings and army for example:

The lunar Corporation - As with the name they can build mainly flying ships.
Euraision Dynasty - Can build mainly tanks and other ground vechicles.
United Civilised States - Can build walkers like in Mechwarrior.

I suggest if you are looking for an alternative to C&C's poor graphics buy this game. Even if the game is hard to master with the new controls it will be worth it just to look at the stunning graphics. And if a game can be rated more then 85% in all the magazines I can't be wrong.
