Advantages: very expansive

Disadvantages: takes a while to understand

When I found this game and its 2 expansions for 2 euro It did not take me long to decide if it was worth it, the game is truly expansive, but hard at some points.

In Morrowind you start as a prisoner as is typical of the Elder scrolls games, after a small character creation process that was nicely implemented into the immigrations office I was dropped outside into the world whit no idea how heal, rest or even fight correctly, Catching on is easy though as I soon learned, the amount of skills there are are truly amazing.

as for leveling up it is different from what Iam used to, instead of killing a certain amount of creatures for XP and then putting points in skills you want raised in Morrowind you instead gain acrobatics XP when jumping, and block XP when successfully blocking, after gaining a specific amount of levels in some skills you get to distribute 3 points over for instance your dexterity and strength which in turn boost some skills.

In the game you will mostly be walking around but there are Silt striders, huge mantis like creatures, who ferry people from city to city for a price, when you come across useful information it is written in your Journal, by pressing J you can read trough it all again and find useful information, by clicking a coloured word you get even more information about that subject, the game often has you going in a certain direction and the Lack of compass had me confused at first, of course that was until I found the map which Is quite easy to read and shows what part of the world you have already explored and can be used to find the compass directions when the need arises.

Unlike say Fallout 3 there is quite a lot of reading involved as NPCs do not have a lot of voice acting, clicking trough everything and then using your Journal can be done but usually I just read what they have to say.

Summary: A good game for when you need an expansive RPG.
