Advantages: Very fun to play, good for leveling up, cool new items.

Disadvantages: Oblivion doesn't really need an expansion pack.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is one of the biggest RPGs of all time. There is so much to do that many players find it overwhelming and doing a majority of the game can take any one player months. Shivering Isles makes Oblivion even larger! Oblivion is a game that is completely open-ended, you can play in order to protect the world, become the head of the Guilds, steal as much as possible, or become incredibly rich. There is no set way to play Oblivion. The graphics of the game as very good, but obviously are no improvement upon the original Oblivion game, the same can be said for the sounds.

The first part of this expansion pack opens up an Oblivion gate into the daedra Sheograth's. His realm is that of madness, and it is completely different from any other experience that is available without it. The main aim is to do many insane jobs for Sheograth in order to protect the realm and earn yourself many rewards. This expansion pack is also very handy for people hoping to make there character stronger, both by levelling up and gaining new items. The second part of the expansion pack is "Knights of the Nine" which involves going to many shrines around Cyrodill in order to find out more about an attack that took place in Anvil chapel, and earn yourself rewards along the way.

Overall this is a very good expansion pack, but in my opinion there is already so much to do in Oblivion that an expansion pack isn't necessary, and it around £20 it probably isn't worth it. However for huge Oblivion fans it is definitely worth a look

Summary: If you have exhausted the potential of the original Oblivion game buy it.
