Finally a follow up to the ancient but very playable Dune 2 that is a damn site better than the basically awful Dune 2000. This is an excellent example of how a strategy game should be designed. Graphically it is superior to most of the competitors and equalled by the remainder, it is not bettered by any. It is essentially based on the same template as all of Westwood`s strategy games. The vehicles are more varied, the maps are bigger and the missions are more challenging. It has all the best points of red alert enhanced in other ways. If you liked the Command & Conquerer series you definatly like this. The story line is you are battling for control of Dune (Arakis) a deadly desert planet which holds the most valuable thing Spice. You can pick from three different houses, Atreides, Harkonnens an the Ordos, each house has there own troops and units with different weapons. Building units and harvesting spice (which gets you money) makes your army bigger and then you can destroy the opponents but thats not all that deadly on the harsh planet, whirling tornado's can quickly such up your units and the terrable sandworms appear from the sand to gobble your units up.
