Advantages: Great Graphics and gameplay
Disadvantages: Need a powerfull PC to enjoy all the wonders of the game
As I am a great fan of the Total War Series I decided to go ahead and purchase Empire Total War.
Before you purchase this game make sure you check the minimum requirements because if you want to enjoy the beautiful graphics you will need a meaty PC.
The initial user interface is nicely designed and for the newbie's the tutorials will allow you to quickly start you "Road to Independence" campaign.
In my opinion there are 2 great aspects to this game, the strategy of moving and managing your advances on the enemy and also the battles.
The latter is divided in land and Sea battles.
Graphically the land battles are amazing. Seeing 1000's of men charging towards the enemy is a lovely sight.
Sea battles however graphically amazing become a little bit tedious after a while and I found myself quickly charging the enemy with all I have. Which unfortunately led to the demise of my fleet.
Controlling you armies can be done by either using the mouse or keyboard. The keyboard employ your using 1st person key layout which makes it very user friendly. I tended to use a mixture of the two.
Advisor will also help you out and give you tips on how to proceed in the game. Newbie's will find that helpful.
So there are a lot of positives to this game now to some of the negatives.
Initially there were a few bugs in the game but most of these were quickly resolved by an update patch.
I guess the fact that you need a very meaty PC to run to game could be seen as a negative.
In summary another great title in the series and it is a game that I will be playing for a very long time.
Summary: A game you will be playing for a long time
