Euro Truck Simulator (PC)
Advantages: Great Game and has hours of entertainment
Disadvantages: Doesn't have real life traffic situations like its predecessors. Not many features
Euro Truck Simulator is a game in a series of Truck Simulation games from SCS Studios. In this game the aim is a carry shippments for place to place all over Europe. Te countires included in the game are the following: UK(with update v1.3), France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, German, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic and Poland. Most of which have 2- 3 cities located.
Benefits of this game is that if your the child or Adult who are into driving around Europe or just like the idea of hauling things with trucks all over Europe then this is the game for you. This game has all major European highways... such as in the UK it has the M6 and the M1 as major routes from London, Manchester and Newcastle, and the E80 and E5 which goes down the spine of france and into Spain.
Because the game map is so big you'll always find it very real when you have to travel right across Europe.
The graphics are pretty detailed aswell though I guess it could be a little better but they're are a little better than its predecessors '18 Wheels of Steel'. The controls of the game are easy to get to grips with as all it really is, arrows to go forward, left right ect... and Lights and all other controls are to thier corresponding start letter. So for Lights you'd press 'L'. You can also hook up an external steering wheel which makes the game even more life like when you have a physics wheel infront of you and not just using keyboard keys. Overall its a very easy game to get to grips with and has quite high quality graphics and you can play this for hours without feeling like there is nothing to do.
The downsides are is that the game does feel like a rushed job. Not that much content is included. The citis aren't brilliantly developed as all they are is like 3 roads forming a square. There isn't a system to make real life traffic situations.. e.g. (Traffic Jams, Road Works). This game could use with an update to incorperate these features in. As the older games did have these features.
My overall summury is:
Only buy this game if you love the idea of pretending to drive through different countries and haul loads around or don't have a facination is Computer Simulations. If you haven't got a facination on anything from travelling to trucks I wouldn't buy this game. Otherwise its a great game to have and you should get quite a bit of enjoyment from it.
Summary: Good game but I believe it still needs more work if it wants to be brilliant.
