Advantages: Scarey as anything, well worth its money
Disadvantages: not many to think of.
Fear is an insanely scarey game that had me jumping all the way through.
Developed by monolith and released 2005.
So you may be thinking it's 4 years old and outdated, but the visuals today are still amazing even by today's standards. It's these visuals and the sounds which make this game so scarey. Especially if played with the lights out.
So what is the story? The story goes as you playing as a F.E.A.R. pointman, a newcomer to the team. The F.E.A.R. are a secret goverment organisation and you are sent in to elimate a man called Paxton Fettel who has gained command of super soldiers using tel0pathy etc. That is it in brief. But you discover a range of paranormal activities revolving around the case.
Environment are as scarey as the gameplay itself, with blood on wall ceilings, dynamic shadows casted everywhere, the whole game taking place in the dark, and the constant distant screams and random sounds make the game all together quite an experience. I got really emerged in the gameplay and constanly jumped out of my skin. There are constant weird flashbacks and blackouts where your character jumps into this paranormla world, sometimes you can't tell if it's real or not.
This game is well worth its money. It includes real time physics, slo mo, and is the first game to use new engine technology develops by monolith on which following games have been built on. A must game to have.
Summary: A scarey experience.
