I borrowed this game from a friend and I am definitely glad I hadn't bought it. There is virtually nothing you can do. the players you buy are limited, and all other features that make managing games so good are missed out with this. very basic game to say the least. If you are considering buying this game, I would say 'don't' but you will probably ignore me. So I will say this: rent it or borrow it first. That way you can see firsthand how bad it is, and you will be glad you didn't buy it. I gave the game back to my friend within 1 hour!
Now, FAPL 2k takes the whole year into account and represents the same sort of game engine as Championship Manager 3, but it looks better and plays worse. The game is very limited in terms of game tactics, I can only tell the players what to do if I want them to attack or defend but not both (E.g. Push up). The game takes more of the players into account this time. If they sit on the reserves bench all the time, they don't get their work permits renewed and even request to leave. Everything else is much the same as the first, except that stadium development is limited and when you want to upgrade the all important sports shop, then you have to pay the same amount again The 3D game engine itself really makes the game come alive. The English version takes onboard commentary from the Sky Sports team, Richard Keys gives the usual introduction and Martin Tyler and Andy Gray produce some outstanding (if not heard in other Fifa titles) back up. However, this is where the game really come be the strength or weakness, I found some really bad bugs in this part of the game, a team will continuously play the ball around the edge of the opponents penalty box even though the goal is screaming out to be shot at. Players in the premier league always miss the second chance if it comes back off the keeper. If the player is on a run towards the penalty box, the player won't tackle him until yards outside the box where he is bundled over by the defender. Another bug is where a team will punt a free kick off the park if the ball is in it's own half, using the highlights option makes the game run much quicker and the 2D option makes my computer crash. The game (all in all) is slick and very well presented. I think that the game has been limited from the tactics of the first game, however, the mathematical inefficiencies are still there, it is very hard to beat the bad teams and even harder to beat the good teams. Ea Sports need to release a patch to correct
some of the bugs within the game. I don't think that there is enough depth to convert any hardened CM3 fans, but a buy if you haven't got a management sim yet.
This has to be the worst football managing game ever and i mean this ,it is rubbish i hate it.I rented this game from my local vidio and game store and i did not like it at all i rented it for 2 nights and i played on it for about 2 hours that is it.It was so rubbish. No one should buy this game. You can only buy players that are on the transfer list i mean how rubbish can you get. There are hardly any stats on this game only how many goals each player has scored and a few others .This because i rented it made my mind up i decided to buy fa premier league football manager 2000.It is brilliant and much better than this pile of rubbish.
