I have been fond of football management sims and have the entire collection of the famous Championship Manager series. I brought this game as i thought it would be a bit different, a change from the normal, entirely text based Championship Manager games. It had the 3D angle which appealed to me, but i found it was a little bit of a let down. The actual game statistics were poor, there was very limited information on each individual player and i found it hard to distinguish between players on practically equal ability and skill level and with it difficult to differentiate between different players and also player transfer fees were way beyond the realms of ... One thing that has stuck in my head since I first played this game is the title of my opinion. That is because it is the the only memorable thing about this game. John Motson saying that one-liner. Reason being is that this is one of the worst football management games on the market. Sure, it has stiff competition from the likes of Championship manager but I think EA sports shot themselves in the foot with this one. Reason I bought it was 2 fold. Firstly, I wanted a good football management game. Rather than read about it on Dooyoo, I simply went out and bought it. What a disappointment it was. Second reason for my choice was the ... The last football management I played was the original Championship Manager way back in 93. I saw this game in PC World for a tenner and thought I’d give it a go. It’s a very good game. Obviously I can’t compare it with anything but it’s very addictive, very playable and easy to pick up and start playing. You can also play multiplayer which is a bonus. Basically you are manger of a football team and you are responsible for players, picking the team, staff, finances and the stadium. When you start this game you are given a choice of what club you want to manage. You get a choice of all four English division s plus the ... Read the complete review

Football Manager 2001, as the name suggests, is a football simulation game that lets you take the reins of your favourite team and lead them to league and cup glory. Although it is an official licensed product of four leagues - the Spanish Primera Liga, the German Bundesliga and the French LNF as well as our own FA Premier League - you can manage any team in the seven nations featured, irrespective of their divisional status. So whether you see yourself as Sir Alex Ferguson, leading Manchester United to victory in the Champions League, or Tommy Taylor, finally getting Leyton Orient promoted out of the Third Division, your dreams are just a few clicks away. Once ... Read the complete review

When it comes to footie sims konami's ISS Pro Evolution beats all of Electronic Arts FIFA offerings. But if there is one thing that EA is good at it's making a footie title that actually looks like the beautiful game. As you'd expect from EA all the grounds are recreated in incredible detail, the sponsors are authentic and you can even tweak your backroom staff. You can also build a footballing empire with facilities such as a new ground, training centre and hotel.Usefully, you can edit the squad after real life transfers too. The real strength of the game is the interactivity of the matches.Admittedly it's fairly basic and you can only ... Read the complete review
