Fallout 2 is a turn based post apocalyptic world filled with a host of Colourful "npc's" "non playable characters.
I must admit i am usually no friend to the turn based genre of game with the possible exception of the brilliant x com apocalypse, but fallout 2 manages to keep a fast pace despite the turn based aspect. It does this by giving the player an option to adjust the speed of combat e.g the speed in which the enemy moves and attacks. It is this function that enables fallout 2 to keep fast and streamlime.
It is only the combat that is turn based with the player exploring the fallout universe in real time. Fallout 2 doesnt take itself too seriously with frequent remarks from the npc's constantly drawing attention to the fact that this is a game and not to be taken without a sense of humour. A refresshing change to the abundance of over the top ultra serious uber heroes of todays games. Id give this game a 10 out of 10! high praise indeed from a "turn-base-aphobe such as myself.

Summary: Great old skool post apocalyptic fun
