start of a great RPG series (Fallout (PC))

Advantages: good plot, nice humour

Disadvantages: sometimes bugged, graphics

The first time I tried fallout it imediatly became apparent how hard and unforgiving it is compared to modern games where you have autosave and quicksave functions to prevent death from being such a great setback, not in fallout though, I had to remake my character 5 times before I truly got the hang of saving, the plot of fallout is pretty simple; The world was destroyed in a nuclear war and you have to go and find a water chip before your vaults water suply runs out and you and your friends and family have to abbandon it, as you yourney trough the wasteland you will discover darker plots and your actions will have consequenses on the fate of the wastes ( as I said, pretty cut and paste RPG plot right? )

However the backstory in fallout is so expansive that the only way to figure it out is to go out there yourself and find it, putting together all the proverbial pieces of the puzzle was one of the best things in this game.

you create your character by first setting its name age and gender, then you distribute the special points, special meaning: Strength, Perception Endurance Charisma Intelligence Agility and Luck. then you can choose 2 optional traits which have both good and negative effects on your character, finally you distribute your skill points and your character is ready to get out there.

Graphics are to be expected of a game of this era but it is not the graphics which makes its appeal, finding a flock of brahmin ( mutated cows ) saying "Mooh !""Mooh I say !" or a lone footprint of what I can only imagine is Godzilla, the games dark humour, those are the reasons to try this game.

Summary: you should try it if you hav'nt already.
