I have played dozens of football games since the early 90s to recent times and yet my purchase of FIFA 2000 in late 1999 for around £50.00 was perhaps one of the best things I've ever purchased.

It may sound sad, but I still play this game regularly, having customised it with the latest teams, players, tournaments etc. The gameplay is fantastic and not overly unrealistic.

Graphically it was ahead of it's time. It might look poor by today's' standards but I think this is obvious considering the game's age.

Customising and updating the game has seen me spend countless hours on it. Unlike recent FIFA versions, creating a new player doesn't take ages. With different styles of hair, face, skin colour etc, it takes seconds. Newer FIFAs go into far much detail (although I suppose you wouldn't need to be making so many players!).

FIFA 2000 is truthfully the best football game I have ever played and I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good playable game without a big price tag. You can pick this up on Ebay for next to nothing as FIFA games really don't hold their value.
