... The transfer system is the same as on other Fifa games. You have an amount you can spend on players which never goes up or down(only if you buy or sell) which is annoying and would be good if it was improved. You should be able to win money for winning a cup or the league if your bradford you cant improve your team as the players cost to much. Also value of players should go up or down according to how well they are playing. PRACTICE This is where you practice for your matches. You cannot just practice with one te...more

I recently aquired Fifa 2001 through www.cokeauction.com. In the shops it will cost around £30. I have played on many of the fifa games and have not enjoyed them very much,I found it to easy to score, every time you get into the box and press shoot you score. And every year they bring out a new game and the graphics are very similar. When I received the parcel holding the game I put it in my pc and was amazed to see the graphics. The faces on the players are life like and you can almost tell who a player is by looking at them. There are also many different facial expressions that they do it is very realistic (I thought I was watching match of the day)I ...  Read the complete review

I have always been a huge fan of the "Fifa" series and look forward to each new version with enthusiasm, sometimes to be disappointed but usually to be impressed. This latest instalment of the series definately falls into the latter category. While the gameplay is essentially the same as "Fifa 2000" with no new moves, the graphics are smoother with teams outfitted in almost authentic kits, and the AI is vastly superior to any other incarnation of the game. It is still not perfect though, one of my petty grumbles being that Alan Smith was missing from the Leeds United line up so I had to edit another player to be him. Oh, and Mark Lawrenson still talks ...  Read the complete review

FIFA 2001 Major League Soccer (PC): Fifa 2001 - Another Good game from EA (955 words)

Quietly, the FIFA series continues to be the best sports title from EA. EA always does first-rate presentation. Last year's edition of the FIFA series was criticized by true football fans for its arcade action, no online play and dimwitted American commentators. This year, all of that has been fixed. FIFA 2001 now rewards players who want to play a ball-control style of offense, and with the addition of online play, it shouldn't be hard to find a game even at 3:00am. Fortunately, the play-by-play and color commentating duties are back in the capable voices of veterans John Motson and Mark Lawrenson. It's not a perfect title; the ...  Read the complete review

GREAT ONLINE PLAYING (209 words)

If you remember the old Commodore Amiga days- you'll have fond memories of the mother of all 'modern day' football games- Kick Off 2. If you're a true fan of football games then you would have spent many months playing Dino Dini's classic interpretation of the 'beautiful game'. Then there was the excellent 'Sensible Soccer', then the remarkable 'Actua Soccer 2' (Playstation); then the enjoyable 'World cup '98' (Playsation). Those are my all-time favourite football games. FIFA 2001 seems to borrow the best elements from all of the afore mentioned simulations- and then some! When played over the internet ...  Read the complete review

Step out of the stands on onto the pitch with EA SPORTS' latest incarnation of the best selling FIFA Soccer Series, FIFA 2001 Major League Soccer. With over 50 National teams and 17 different leagues, including each player and uniform per league, the in-game choices and competition are real and intense. Adding to the authenticity of the gameplay, players have adopted a realistic sense of urgency on the pitch as the ball enters and leaves their circle of influence. FIFA 2001's environment is alive--this is not just a simulation: sidelines bustle with activity from spectators, coaches, and teammates as the clouds roll over the stadium and the weather and lighting ...  Read the complete review
