Everybody remembers Doom. It was the game that introduced a generation to gaming, and gave birth to a whole genre of imitators. Similar games had existed before, but it's not too much of an exaggeration to say that Doom was the game that started off the massive explosion of first-person shooters that we know today. But that was many years ago, and most people now would say that Doom is massively dated, and far outclassed by its more modern competitors. However, what most people don't know is that development work on Doom didn't stop when the original game and its sequel had been released. An army of dedicated fans have been working since the game ... Read the complete review

Everyone who owns any kind of computer gameing device, weither it be console or PC has either got or has played any version of DOOM. The original was the biggest hit of all time and has yet, in my opinion, to be truly beaten. Here we have Final DOOM, which is DOOM 2 with 2 completely new episodes. Is this a absolutely unmissable addition to the DOOM universe, or just a bid to squeese the last cash out of the DOOM name? Read on my fellow game lovers. There can't be many of you left now, but just for the few there are who have not herd of DOOM, the premise is that you are the lone surviving marine left at an installation, or planet and it it your job to ... DOOM is a truly amazing game. Chainsaws, pocket-sized bazookas and BFG9000s. Doom II took this one step further with bigger enemies, wolfenstien cameos and one of the game's creators impaled on a pole. Trouble is, everything after this has gone downhill to make way for id's other products. Final Doom is the best example of this. The exact same format remains, with no 'newfangled' extras present, like the ability to jump. It is sad that the series is growing old, and with noone paying any attention to it, updates like this, or the atrocious Doom 64 lack all the polish associated with the first two games. What was once the single scariest game, full stop, ... Read the complete review

Well, here it is, the final in the doom series (or so your made to think). With the release of final doom quite a few years ago now I was expecting there to be quite a few new features. A little disappointed since I remember forking out £40 for this game when it was new. From the previous version of doom to final doom there are no new weapons to be found. It is the same array of weapons ranging from the double barrel shotgun, plasma gun and BFG. Once again you battle your way through hell blasting monsters at every turn, picking up different coloured keys that unlock doors edging you closer to the end of the level. The only ...
