Final Fantasy XI is the only game in the series that is online. It introduces the Active Dimension Battle System (ADB). Which means that monsters are roaming around the area and are in full view of the character. No seperation screen between the battle and normal game. The best thing about this game is that its has 4 expansion packs, which means that it adds new areas, new monsters, new quests, new items and new equipment to the game. Plus with new patches being added more quests are being added all the time. You cannot have nothing to do with this game. Always updating. When you start the game you can create you character to you liking - Hair, ... Read the complete review

Now I know that many reviewers here at DooYoo may not like my style of reviewing but I feel to give a personal view, unedited, unformatted and straight to the point of how the game made one FEEL is more useful, as I am sure when you go to purchase such a game you will read the requirements and such there. Keyword, purchase. I spent more time purchasing, registering, activating, verifying and so on and so on and so forth that by the time I had installed, patched and gone through said above process I was actually TIRED, TIRED I say and needed to sleep before entering said game. So sleep I went and came back to it the next day. If, like me you came from ... Read the complete review

This was my first experience of playing this sort of game, before I'd only ever played the Sims and Fable. And I must admit that I love it. The graphics are gorgeous, the music is understated and there is a brilliant community. My friend spends all his time on this game, making friends, doing missions and generally having a good time. Whilst on the other hand I use it quite rarely and prefer to solo. The only thing that worries me about the game is parties, being in a group where if you do something wrong its not just you that suffers. I feel that I would have to play the game a lot more than I do to actually gain enough confidence in the ... Read the complete review

Some of you may have noticed I've had a very long absence from ciao and dooyoo which only ended a couple of months ago. That's because for a while, I had a new love in my life, Final Fantasy XI online. I've never been into Massively Multiplayer Online role-playing Games much before, and to be honest, I actually doubted I'd enjoy this game. You see it wasn't me that made the initial choice to purchase, but one of my ex boyfriends, Zephyr. He's been a fan of FF for years, right from its early days on Nintendo through till now. He is the uber FF geek...he whistles the chocobo theme as he walks about, and constantly rambles on about stuff from the ... Read the complete review

Final Fantasy is a classic series that has a long history - from the Nintendo days to the Playstation 2 and the PC. Final Fantasy XI is an online - only game where both PC and Playstation 2 owners can play with each other. It is a co-operative game with no Player Vs Player combat as such, and has a strong Final Fantasy feel. =======Starting Out========== When you install Final Fantasy XI, you have to register a Playonline ID, then a content ID, then you have to link these IDs and create a character. The character that you create is on a random server, unless you have a 'world pass' that lets you choose to play on a certain ... Read the complete review
