      Very helpful

      Fun old school game

Final Fight 3 is a classic old school scrolling beat em up with you playing the reoccuring roles of either Guy and muscle bound Mayor of Metro City Haggar (my personal favouriote in all the Final Fight games), or from new characters Special Crimes Unit officer Lucia Morgan or mysterious street fighter Dean. Each character has their own strength and weaknesses over each other.

The main story consists of you trying to take down the Skull Cross Gang who have detonated a bomb which has incited a riot in Metro City. At the end of the day though the story really has little relevance to the gameplay.

Borrowing heavily from Street Fighter 2 Turbo and Segas Streets of Rage (among others) the in game engine has been greatly improved on past final Fight games. You now have the ability to do running atacks, flying moves, even grab your opponet from the front or behind and execute some sort of attack. You also have a special bar which when filled enables you to let loose a powerful attack.

This game was one of the first I came across that offered multiple paths allowing you to replay the game with a different experience depending on which route you take. Many of these have to be activated by throwing a enemy into surrounding objects etc, with the Seaport stage only being able to be accessed this way. Also decisons you make effect latter stages of the game.

FF3 was one of the first games that offered a 1 player co-op mode with the computer controlling your partner. I enjoyed this mode but it doesnt beat playing 'real' 2 player with a human controlled partner.

Overall the best outing of the Final Fight series to date and a must for retro game collectors.
