Fisher Price offer a PC CD-ROM of the well-known child?s toy MAGNA DOODLE. They state that you can see your drawings came alive. Well, I am sure that you have heard lots of marketing stuff before and what you really want to know is ? is it any good? Will my child like it? Will it keep them entertained? I hope to answer these questions and more!!!!

My son is two years nine months and has been using this CD for about the last three months. It states that it is for ages 3+ but my boy is competent in using a mouse and can play the entire CD-ROM unaided.

There are five themes ? underwater, space, hot air balloon, roller coaster and fire engine. Each theme has five drawings for your child to colour in. whilst they get used to it, they can stamp in pre coloured pictures and these are all great. When they become more skilled, they can go to the paintbox and change the colours and my son can do this easily now. You can also hand draw the pictures if you like. (I have to do this, he?s clever with a mouse but not that clever!!! He is only two after all!) then you get the draws to come alive by running it at slow, normal of fast. Your pictures are superimposed onto a background. It makes lots of noises and my son loves this part. Each of the five themes has two separate background drawings so there are 50 drawings for your child to colour in in total( five pictures in each background drawing, two backgrounds for each of the five themes.)

This game keeps my son amused for a good hour if I let him. It?s really fun and interactive and we easily play it together, as we choose colours and speeds together as a game. It encourages him to be competent and confident in using a computer, which is essential for children these days.

I would recommend this to you, it?s a great product. You may be interested to know that I actually purchased this on ebay, so I got it very cheaply rather than paying high street prices.
