The fact is that the series Flight Simulator exists from 17 years and so it says many on the reputation of this simulator; Flight Simulator 2000 Pro is the most recent version dedicated to the great fans of flight. ms flight sim 2000 pro is proberbly the best flight sim on the planet.with inputs from real pilots to make the experiance more realistic, caution is advised when purchasing this because you do need a computer than has got lots of power utherwise you will find yourself stuttering through the skies.it comes with concorde as part of the package along with other planes, helicopterand glider also. a good joystick is recomended as this makes the sim much easier to use although you can use you keyboard, graphics are superb as is the sound quality.the price is quite high, but it comes with lots of options to alter playing, most world airports are included not just major cities but also your local small airports.you can learn to fly the sim in the tutorial section (recomended) which will talk you through each step including a test to get your flight sim licence.the manual is a bit complicated with over 300 pages of facts and figures but is well worth the read.
OK, firstly I'd just like to say that FS2000 is a brilliant Civil Aviation Sim. The best around, I'd say. It's very accurate, has tons of planes, has a huge online following, covers a massive area etc. To me however, the fact that you can take off and land on pretty much any airport anywhere in the world makes it a great all rounded very realistic sim. Been on holiday recently? Why not recreate the journey in FS2000? It is extremely accurate navigationally as well. It has all the navaids you'd expect and this new version now has GPS which is VERY good. Having said this, there's something lacking in FS2000. It seems to me that once Microsoft got to version 95 or so they thought, "Hmmm, we've got a great Flight Sim on our ands which is selling by the shedload, now we can just sit back, add a couple of new planes and an odd feature here and there and release the next version". It's because of this logic that a number of horrible features have survived through to this version. For example, why can't you select an airport and plane before loading your default flight? and why does it require such an immensly powerful machine to work properly considering FS98 runs on a P200? Gripes aside though, it IS the most accurate and best sim on the market and I would advise anyone into this genre to pick up a copy right away.
